3. License To Use Artist Materials.

As and when Artist Materials are uploaded to the deviantART Site.....Artist grants to deviantART a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to do the following... the right to sublicense to any other person or company any of the licensed rights in the Artist Materials, or any part of them, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. ....to display, copy, reproduce, exhibit, publicly perform, broadcast, rebroadcast, transmit, retransmit, distribute through any electronic means (including analog and digital) or other means, and electronically or otherwise publish any or all of the Artist Materials, including any part of them, and to include them in compilations for publication, by any and all means and media now known or not yet known or invented ... think thats enough.

thats a little bit much . its my work and i decide if i somebody can use it. But a general YES "you can do what you want" is definitive to much.

Please write if my bad english knowledge translated the agreement in a wrong way but that is a "bye bye to deviantart" i think.

No I think the agreement is less of a leeway for them.

They state that it only applies to uses related to the own artist promotion or to DA advertisements. There's not a single mention of for-profit uses.

Perhaps the 'Terms of Use' state it better:

16. Copyright in Your Content

deviantART does not claim ownership rights in Your Content. For the sole purpose of enabling us to make your Content available through the Service, you grant to deviantART a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, re-format, store, prepare derivative works based on, and publicly display and perform Your Content. Please note that when you upload Content, you allow third parties to copy, distribute and display your Content.

Relax, after all these years and yet to see someone complaining about copyright infringement or misuse.

Das klingt wirklich heftig. Ich habe mich bisher kaum damit beschäftigt, habe aber mitbekommen, dass es schon länger Diskussionen über einzelne Punkte gibt. Sowas lässt einem eben schon zweimal überlegen, ob man wirklich etwas heraufladen soll, dass einen persönlichen (oder auch sonstigen) Wert hat.

hmm. i know they dont realy think about using all they have written. but they can and thats what im not happy about.

my art, they can do whatever they want to it. as long as I created it the way I wanted to in the beginning, if I submit it, others can change it in their own ways to suit their own needs.
