Reminiscent of the Milky Way spiral and it's orbiting which subsequently affects the lapse of caldendar years in our terms.
I've spent this entire fall studying artificial lighting and night, and experimenting with everything one can do with a camera to capture it. "Being physical with the camera" is usually terminology used for large format, but in this case, it is a good analogy for the way the lens has been treated. With digital these shots are almost too easy to produce, but non the less endlessly fun and allways a thrill to view the result on the display. I appreciate the control over the tonal values, no light trajectory got blown out, which is usually the tricky part, preserving all the hues against the black night backdrop.
You probably had quite a stand-point at some overpass, or elevation point, when you captured this. The density of the mesh and the uniformity of color do make this an extraordinary shot from this branche.
