in the B&W I think you should use less of the blue channel and more of the red channel for nicer tones.
hmm. you are right there is no much red in this picture. i like it when the skin looks so deep. but thats a matter of taste. you have a nice gallery. hope you upload mor like this

I agree with you about the skin, but I usually use monochrom with emphsis on the blue channel when I take portraits of older people for greater impact.

Glamour portrait is an apt classification. In the thumbnail I thought that the woman must be a model or something. I agree that something about the skin tone seems too unnatural, like she had been fried in solarium. But I really dig the strong contrast. The way her hair floats makes the picture look much less static. I wonder if a more off-center composition would add to the dynamics.
