Artist's Comments

It was taken in Ethiopia.
its a old picture but i like it.
There is a optical and cultural border between the viewer and the children.
Have a nice evening

In this photograph, there is so much to consider, so much room to wander, expressions to look at, and colors and tones that balance eachother. It couldn't be any more perfect. +fav.

I can't move
I can't move things
I want things to happen to me
I want to let go of things
I want to be free
I want you to leave me
I want you to see me
I want you to be with me

i remember somebody saying that we should be happy. because the life we got here in the "modern" world is a jackpot in life itself. sometimes i think about living in a different country to get off this need for more and more. after such a trip you would be happy with much less. i think you konw what i mean.
:icondiamondie:
I disagree with the previous poster about the concept of happiness (most unhappy people wouldn't get any happier knowing that some people have it worse, it's all subjective), but this is a great shot. It looks like something that could appear in Newsweek or National Geographic, but still artistic.

It was a good choice to include so much rock and wood, it really does distance the kids from the viewer and helps makes the picture different from all the different "starving African kids" shots. Good lighting and composition. I'd make the picture less wide though.

When did you go to Ethiopia?
I really would like to go there, but I'd only go if I had like a truckload of presents for everyone.

Wonderful shot and you make really nice composition. I like those different textures (rocks and sticks), it's already says a lot and I find it to be very simbolic. And for the children - all kids on this world are unique and beautiful :aww:.
